I’m getting up off my ass today and making the effort. Thanks for the motivation.

I think it is easy for us to ignore it living where we do. It isn’t something that we have to see unless we choose to on the TV. I never really thought about it, but I guess I am implicit in ignoring the problems of the world too.

I wonder if you’re starting to see the futility and hypocrisy of the “protest” mindset. You can’t really accomplish anything by just complaining all the time.

I believe people who protest injustice are not “just complaining all the time.”
They are taking a passionate, positive,
peaceful stand for the possibility of transformation.
Focussing the attention of the world on an issue that could otherwise be ignored,
standing in solidarity with people who could otherwise be alone,
or expressing your political priorities to the politicians you elect,
can accomplish change, and is an accomplishment in itself.
