I’m studying journalism in high school ( I’m a proud member of my school’s newspaper) so I have an idea how journalism works, and it is a hectic, cold industry at times. But, no matter how big a story, you shouldn’t go too far for it. The world has its limits, and so should you.

I guess it really depends on whether the ruining of their lives was due to what they did or what you did. Since this is a confession, I assume it was what you did. If that is the case, you might want to try and figure out a way to rectify what you have done in some way.
