Some don't experience as traumatic things as others, but who are you to decide? I watched a proud soldier-of German descent for you purists out there-break into pieces after a horrible trip to the Middle East. This man had been killing people for the US Military since he left the dairy farm at age 17 and it had never affected him like this. He was more decorated with combat ribbons and awards than most of his superiors. He would leave the lights on at night when I worked late because he was scared of the ghosts of those he had killed. He never sought help because it would make him look weak or Un-American. He was/is tormented and will remain so because of attitudes like yours. Maybe the sender was faking, but maybe he/she was genuine. You don't know and PTSD is REAL! War-any war-is a nightmare for everyone involved. I just read a report from the VA that says mental health has become the second-largest area of illness for which veterans of the ongoing occupation in Iraq are seeking treatment at VA hospitals and clinics. The total number of mental health cases among war veterans increased by 58%; from 63,767 on June 30, 2006, to 100,580 on June 30, 2007, according to the VA. We really have no idea and that is why I error on the side of support. Placing your own political views on someone else's confession and calling them a "troll" and the confession "bullcrap" when you have no idea who sent it in and what that person has been through is something you may want to reflect upon.
